Investing in Fin

INVESTING IN FIN

Over the past few years, we’ve watched stablecoins quietly become one of the most important pieces of global financial infrastructure. Trillions move across these rails, and yet the infrastructure for businesses to actually use them at scale is fragmented, confusing, and far from enterprise-ready. Every business we talk to eventually asks the same question: Why does it still take days to send money that should move instantly?

That gap between potential and reality here is massive. It’s also exactly where we get excited: when a team shows up with the clarity, rigor, and experience to transform something that’s been “good enough” for too long. When we first met Ian and Aashiq, it was immediately clear they were building the future that global businesses have been asking for: a simple, reliable, instant way to move money at scale using stablecoins under the hood, without ever feeling like a crypto app.

WHY WE INVESTED

What stood out to us was how deeply the team understood the experience gap in payments. Fin doesn’t try to wedge crypto into payments; instead, they use stablecoins to quietly eliminate delays, friction, and intermediaries, all while delivering something that feels familiar, trustworthy, and fast. Their early traction with enterprises, financial institutions, and crypto-native operators meant that Fin had discovered a significant gap in the market.

Their vision is to become the trusted, universal settlement layer for high-value payments with instant transactions between Fin users, bank accounts, and crypto rails. We believe Fin will be the company that redefines how money moves around the world.

THE TEAM

Ian Krotinsky and Aashiq Dheeraj both spent years operating inside Citadel’s trading and research teams where they built and managed high-performance financial infrastructure. They’ve since pulled in an all-star cast of builders from Google, Meta, Uber, Rippling, and Chime to help craft a modern global payments stack designed for the stablecoin era.

We’re excited to lead the $17 million Series A round for Fin with participation from Sequoia and Samsung Next. If you’d like to learn more about Fin or explore open roles, please visit https://www.fin.tech/.
